After moving mail: how do I empty Trash?

IMAP Cleaner only moves messages into your mailbox’s Trash folder. It never empties Trash or permanently deletes anything.

Using your usual email app

  1. Wait for the mailbox to finish synchronising.
  2. Open Trash, Bin or Deleted Items and review the messages.
  3. Choose Empty Trash, Empty Bin or Delete all. This may be in the folder’s menu or appear when you right-click it.

Using your email provider’s webmail

  1. Sign in directly to your provider’s webmail website.
  2. Open its Trash, Bin or Deleted Items folder.
  3. Review the contents, then use the provider’s Empty or Delete all button.

Important: Emptying Trash is usually permanent. Check it carefully first. Your storage figure may also take a little while to update.
